About The Communi-Tea

Mike Cuevas began his tea journey in 2014 with a sample of pumpkin spice tea. He was intrigued by the idea of flavored teas and purchased a couple bags of Blood Orange and Coconut Pouchong teas. This casual hobby quickly turned into a passion. He returned to the tea shop often to expand his tea palate, learn more about the processes, and purchase more teas. He quickly befriended the staff and participated in deep, spirited conversations with them.

After some time, the desire to share his passion grew, so he created a Facebook group to reach out to like-minded people. He was given the idea to review teas live on video by a friend. He only planned to do it about five times, but as demand increased, so did the frequency.

In 2021, his thirst for knowledge led him to the World Tea Academy, where he earned his certification as a tea specialist. He started arranging live tea tastings with non-profit organizations. In 2022, he and his wife visited India, where they visited her family’s tea farm, expanding his fascination and learning firsthand about tea culture.

After 9 years, he retired from his live tea tastings to turn his attention to building The Communi-Tea into an online shopping experience and in-person events. He now strives to bring delicious gourmet teas to his friends and customers, sharing his delicious passion with his incredible customers and tea enthusiasts from all over the country.
